Second of the series Il Mio Amico Mostro, Felix il Mostro Birichino by Karen Kaz Campbell has an odd story behind. As soon as I ended the translation of Boris alla Riscossa, I asked Karen to let me translate the second episode of the series and she accepted. My first intention was to have both stories on sale by Christmas, but … everything went wrong, my PC blew up even before I could start translating, my car broke and I couldn’t have it (and my PC too) fixed before a couple of weeks, and … last but not least, when I could finally finish translating the book, the author had problems with my file and I ran the risk of re-editing it again! In the end all my efforts were rewarded and I could see it published by the date I had in mind … with a huge surprise: my name on the book cover!!! As I told in one of my posts, I’m a lucky woman: I was blessed to translate the books of two special authors, who place a high value on the translator’s work. It’s quite uncommon and I’m blessed that it happened to me. Thank you so much, Karen!

About the author:
Kaz Campbell loves to tell a story. So where do all the ideas come from? Well to start off with, her husband – B. Campbell – is a very funny man. He wrote ‘Diary of an Almost Cool Girl’, an instant best seller. Mr TDH (Tall, Dark and Handsome) is one of the characters in his book. Kaz felt that he needed a voice too, how did he feel about Maddi, what was happening in his life…. And so Diary of Mr TDH was born.
